Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, finely sliced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (almonds, pecans, cashews)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 2 large carrots, peeled and cut into sticks
  • 1 cucumber, sliced into rounds
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • 3 tbsp olive oil, for brushing
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ⅓ cup crumbled goat cheese or feta (optional)
  • 1 small jar olive tapenade
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Creamy Herb Dip: In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and sour cream or Greek yogurt. Mix until smooth using a spatula. Stir in minced garlic, chopped parsley, and chives. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate while preparing the rest.
  2. Make the Spiced Nuts: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a small bowl, toss mixed nuts with olive oil, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), and sea salt until evenly coated. Spread nuts on a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast for 10-12 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and fragrant. Let cool completely before serving.
  3. Toast the Crostini: Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder. Toast in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes or until crisp and golden. If desired, top with crumbled goat cheese or feta right after toasting.
  4. Prepare the Veggies: While nuts and crostini are in the oven, peel and cut carrots into sticks, slice cucumber into rounds, and cut bell pepper into strips. Rinse cherry tomatoes and pat dry.
  5. Arrange the Spread: On a large platter or wooden board, place the creamy herb dip in a bowl near the center. Arrange toasted crostini, spiced nuts, and fresh veggies around it in neat sections. Add a small bowl of olive tapenade and lemon wedges for extra flavor.

Notes

Soften cream cheese before mixing to avoid lumps. Roast nuts in a single layer for even toasting. Toast crostini carefully to avoid over-hardening. The dip can be made a day ahead and refrigerated. Roasted nuts keep well for 2-3 days at room temperature. Toast crostini just before serving for best texture. Swap ingredients for dietary needs such as vegan or gluten-free options.
