A quick and easy recipe for juicy chicken breasts wrapped in crispy bacon, cooked to perfection in the air fryer. Perfect for weeknight dinners or impressing guests with minimal fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 oz / 170 g each)
  • 812 slices of thin or regular-cut bacon (thick-cut recommended for extra crispiness)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
  2. In a mixing bowl, drizzle olive oil over the chicken breasts, then sprinkle garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and dried thyme. Rub the seasoning evenly all over each piece.
  3. Lay 2-3 bacon slices overlapping on a clean surface. Place one seasoned chicken breast at one end and roll tightly, ensuring bacon covers the chicken fully. Secure with toothpicks if needed. Repeat for all breasts.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place bacon-wrapped chicken breasts seam-side down in the air fryer basket, leaving space between pieces.
  6. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 9-11 minutes, then carefully flip using tongs and cook another 9-11 minutes.
  7. Check internal temperature—the thickest part should read 165°F (74°C).
  8. Optional: In the last 2 minutes, brush a thin layer of honey or maple syrup over the bacon for a shiny, sweet glaze. Return to air fryer briefly to set.
  9. Remove chicken from air fryer and let rest on a plate for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pat chicken dry before seasoning to help bacon stick and crisp better. Use thin or regular bacon for faster crisping. Flip gently with tongs to avoid bacon unraveling. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed. Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F (74°C). Let chicken rest before slicing to keep it juicy. For extra crispiness, give chicken a quick 2-3 minute crisp at the end, watching closely to prevent burning.
