Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound medium or large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined (tail-on or off based on preference)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (raw or wildflower preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
  • Pinch of smoked paprika for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the raw shrimp with olive oil, minced garlic, Old Bay seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss until shrimp are evenly coated.
  2. Drizzle honey over the shrimp and toss gently to coat without breaking the shrimp.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F and let it heat for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Place shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding. Cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Air fry the shrimp for 6 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through (around 3 minutes).
  6. While shrimp cook, whisk together ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce (if using), and a pinch of smoked paprika in a small bowl. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  7. Transfer shrimp to a serving plate, sprinkle lightly with extra Old Bay if desired, and serve immediately with the zesty cocktail sauce on the side.

Notes

Pat shrimp dry before seasoning to ensure crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Flip shrimp halfway through cooking for even crisping. Adjust horseradish and lemon juice in cocktail sauce to taste. For gluten-free, verify Old Bay and Worcestershire sauce are certified gluten-free. If no air fryer, bake shrimp at 425°F for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway.
