A quick and easy creamy caramel apple dip that balances sweet and tart flavors, perfect for teacher gifts or cozy fall snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup apple cider or water
  • Pinch of salt
  • Fresh apples, sliced (Honeycrisp or Fuji recommended)

Instructions

  1. Wash and core apples. Slice into even wedges and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese with brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla extract until fully combined and creamy.
  4. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add granulated sugar and stir gently until sugar dissolves and turns golden amber (5-7 minutes).
  5. Carefully add apple cider or water and a pinch of salt. Stir continuously until smooth and slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
  6. Slowly pour half of the warm caramel sauce into the cream cheese mixture, folding gently with a spatula. Reserve the rest for drizzling or gifting.
  7. Transfer dip to a serving bowl or jar. Cover and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Serve chilled with fresh apple slices.

Notes

If caramel thickens after cooling, warm gently over low heat before mixing or drizzling. Chill dip to develop flavor and texture. Use lemon juice on apple slices to prevent browning if prepping ahead.
