This Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks recipe transforms simple ingredients into a mouthwatering sandwich masterpiece, delivering classic Philly flavors with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Slice the green bell pepper and onion into thin strips. Set aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes, breaking it up with a spatula. Once browned, drain any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  4. Push the beef to one side of the skillet. Add olive oil, then the sliced onions and bell peppers. Cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and slightly caramelized.
  5. Mix the cooked vegetables into the ground beef, ensuring everything is evenly combined.
  6. Spread butter onto the inside of each hoagie roll. Toast them in a toaster oven or regular oven at 375Β°F (190Β°C) for 3-5 minutes until golden and slightly crispy.
  7. Lay provolone slices over the beef mixture in the skillet. Cover with a lid and let the cheese melt for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Spoon the beef and veggie mixture onto the toasted rolls. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Toast the rolls for added crunch and prevent sogginess. Customize the recipe with different cheeses or veggies to suit your taste.
