This creamy, cheesy spinach and bacon dip served in a rustic bread bowl is the ultimate party starter, perfect for gatherings, game nights, or holiday parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, roughly chopped
  • 6 slices crispy bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large rustic bread bowl (sourdough or boule), hollowed out

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
  2. Using a sharp knife, cut a circle around the top of your bread loaf and hollow out the center, leaving about 1 inch of bread as the walls. Save the removed bread for dipping.
  3. In a large skillet, fry the bacon until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain. Once cooled, crumble into small pieces.
  4. Add the chopped spinach to the same skillet (with a bit of leftover bacon grease for extra flavor) and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Set aside.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir until well blended.
  6. Fold the sautΓ©ed spinach and crumbled bacon into the cheese mixture.
  7. Spoon the dip mixture into the hollowed-out bread bowl, spreading evenly.
  8. Place the filled bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden on top.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Arrange the saved bread pieces around the bowl for dipping.

Notes

For extra crispiness, brush the inside of the bread bowl with olive oil before filling. Use fresh spinach for the best flavor and texture, and cook bacon slowly on medium heat for perfect crispiness.
