Juicy, tender meatballs coated in a sticky, sweet maple glaze with savory spices. Perfect for gatherings or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165Β°F).
  5. While the meatballs bake, combine maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, and cayenne pepper in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring often, until the glaze thickens slightly (about 5-7 minutes).
  6. Remove the meatballs from the oven and transfer to a large bowl. Pour the glaze over them and gently toss until fully coated.
  7. Serve the glazed meatballs on a platter or keep them warm in a slow cooker on low heat. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

Using pure maple syrup is key for the glaze. If it thickens too much, add a splash of water to loosen it. Don’t overwork the meatball mixture to keep them tender.
