  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups (281g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (200g) Christmas M&Ms

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Line your baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar, and 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add 2 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 1/4 cups (281g) all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 cup (200g) Christmas M&Ms. Save a handful of M&Ms to press into the tops of the cookies later.
  7. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Press a few of the reserved M&Ms onto the tops of each cookie for extra festive flair.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers will look slightly underbaked.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
