A simple and festive baked Camembert board featuring creamy cheese, tart cranberries, and fragrant rosemary, perfect for quick holiday entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole wheel Camembert cheese (about 8 oz / 225 g)
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries (about 60 g)
  • 34 fresh rosemary sprigs
  • 1 clove garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
  • Crusty bread or crackers for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Remove the Camembert from its packaging and unwrap it carefully. Using a sharp knife, score the top of the rind in a crisscross pattern about 1/4 inch (0.5 cm) deep.
  3. Insert thin slices of garlic and small rosemary leaves into the cuts. Place the whole rosemary sprigs around the cheese on the board for aroma and presentation.
  4. Scatter fresh or thawed frozen cranberries on and around the cheese. Optionally, toss them first with a teaspoon of honey for extra sweetness.
  5. Lightly brush the top of the cheese and cranberries with olive oil. Drizzle honey over the top.
  6. Sprinkle a pinch of freshly ground black pepper over the cheese and berries.
  7. Place the board or dish on the middle rack and bake for 15–18 minutes until the cheese is soft, gooey, bubbly, and lightly golden.
  8. Carefully remove the board from the oven using oven mitts and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  9. Arrange crusty bread slices or crackers around the board and serve warm.

Notes

Score the cheese rind to help it melt evenly and allow flavors to seep in. Use fresh rosemary for best aroma. Let the cheese rest after baking to set the texture. Optionally sprinkle chopped toasted pecans or walnuts after baking for crunch. Avoid microwaving for reheating as it can toughen the cheese.
