  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large bowl, mash 3 ripe bananas until smooth but still a bit chunky (about 1 ½ cups mashed).
  3. Pour in ½ cup (115 g) melted butter and stir gently to combine with the bananas.
  4. Stir in ¾ cup (150 g) granulated sugar and 1 large room temperature egg until just combined.
  5. Gradually stir in 1 ½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour. Mix gently until no streaks of flour remain; batter may be a bit lumpy.
  6. Optionally, add ½ teaspoon baking soda or a pinch of salt and stir lightly.
  7. Pour batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. Tent with foil if top browns too fast.
  9. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
