Creamy Buffalo Chicken Dip: 5-Ingredient Easy Recipe

creamy buffalo chicken dip - featured image

A rich, thick, and addictive buffalo chicken dip made with a cream cheese base for a luxurious texture that balances heat and creaminess perfectly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Frank’s RedHot Sauce
  • ½ cup ranch dressing
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix (dry)
  • ¼ cup blue cheese crumbles (optional)
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cut the cream cheese into cubes and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to soften, or microwave in 10-second bursts until pliable.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, and dry ranch mix together until completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour in the Frank’s RedHot sauce and stir until the mixture is a uniform orange color. Taste and adjust heat if necessary.
  4. Gently fold in the shredded chicken and shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  5. Transfer the mixture to an 8×8 inch baking dish. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until edges are bubbling and top is golden. Alternatively, cook in a slow cooker on low for 1-2 hours, stirring halfway through.
  6. Top with blue cheese crumbles and sliced green onions. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, celery sticks, or crusty bread.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Shred cheddar cheese from a block rather than using pre-shredded cheese to prevent a waxy texture. The dip can be made ahead and refrigerated; add extra baking time if cooking from cold. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
