A thick, creamy, and satisfying breakfast made with just five ingredients. This high-protein overnight oats recipe requires only 5 minutes of prep time and transforms into a dessert-like treat after soaking overnight.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk of choice (dairy, almond, or oat)
  • 2 tablespoons creamy natural peanut butter
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (whey or plant-based)
  • 12 teaspoons sweetener (maple syrup or honey)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a mason jar or mixing bowl, combine milk, peanut butter, and sweetener. Stir vigorously until the peanut butter is mostly dissolved.
  2. Add the protein powder to the liquid mixture. Stir vigorously or seal the jar and shake hard for 10 seconds to prevent clumps.
  3. Pour in the old-fashioned rolled oats and the pinch of salt. Stir to ensure oats are fully submerged in the liquid.
  4. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight (8-12 hours).
  5. Remove from fridge, give a good stir, and add a splash of milk if the mixture is too thick. Top with desired toppings and serve cold.

Notes

Do not use quick oats or steel-cut oats as they affect the texture negatively. Always mix the protein powder into the liquid first to avoid clumping. The recipe can be customized with chocolate protein, bananas, or berries. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
