A visually striking and nostalgic fall party drink featuring a creamy pumpkin spice base swirled with melting orange sherbet. This easy-to-make punch is perfect for autumn gatherings, offering a luxurious texture and comforting flavors without requiring any cooking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup 100% pure pumpkin puree
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 23 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 cups ginger ale (or ginger beer for a spicier kick)
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 23 cups orange sherbet
  • 1 large bowl of ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine pumpkin puree, heavy cream, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, and pumpkin pie spice.
  2. Whisk vigorously until the mixture is completely smooth and free of lumps. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  3. Optional: Chill the pumpkin mixture in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to help it blend better with cold ingredients later.
  4. In a large punch bowl, combine ginger ale and orange juice. Stir gently to mix.
  5. Fill the punch bowl with ice cubes, leaving room for the sherbet and pumpkin mixture.
  6. Scoop orange sherbet into the bowl on top of the ice. Do not mix it in yet.
  7. Slowly pour the chilled pumpkin mixture over the sherbet and ice to create a marbled effect.
  8. Serve immediately by ladling into glasses, ensuring each serving gets both the creamy base and melting sherbet.

Notes

[‘Use large ice cubes to prevent the drink from getting watery too quickly.’, ‘Ensure all ingredients are cold before mixing to maintain the swirl effect and carbonation.’, ‘Do not use pumpkin pie filling; use 100% pure pumpkin puree.’, ‘For a boozy version, add bourbon or spiced rum to individual glasses rather than the whole bowl.’, ‘Serve within 30 minutes for the best texture; after that, it becomes more like a smoothie.’, ‘Store pumpkin base and sherbet separately if making ahead; reassemble just before serving.’]
