Easy, flaky appetizers made with puff pastry, Brie cheese, and cranberry sauce. These bite-sized treats are perfect for parties and can be made in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz Brie cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (whole berry or jellied)
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Flaky sea salt for finishing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry to 1/8 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut the dough into 2-inch squares (yields about 20-24 squares).
  4. Place a cube of Brie in the center of each square, topped with a small dollop (1/2 tsp) of cranberry sauce.
  5. Fold the pastry corners over the filling to seal, pressing edges firmly with fingers or a fork.
  6. Brush the tops with the egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds and flaky sea salt.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until puffed and golden brown, rotating pan halfway through.
  8. Cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Ensure the puff pastry remains cold until baking to ensure proper rising. Do not overfill with cranberry sauce to prevent leaking. For best results, use high-quality puff pastry like Pepperidge Farm. Can be assembled and frozen before baking for make-ahead convenience.
