apple cider mimosa - featured image

A simple, cozy autumn cocktail made with spiced apple cider and crisp sparkling wine, ready in just three minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Apple Cider (unfiltered, cloudy)
  • 1 cup Champagne or Prosecco (dry/Brut)
  • 1 small Cinnamon Stick
  • A pinch Nutmeg (freshly grated)
  • 1 twist Orange Peel

Instructions

  1. Chill the apple cider, sparkling wine, and serving glasses in the refrigerator or freezer for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Pour the apple cider into a pitcher or measuring cup.
  3. Add the cinnamon stick to the cider and let it sit for a minute to infuse.
  4. Grate a pinch of fresh nutmeg into the cider and stir gently.
  5. Slowly pour the chilled champagne or prosecco into the spiced cider, pouring down the side of the pitcher to preserve bubbles.
  6. Stir the mixture gently once or twice with a long spoon.
  7. Twist the orange peel over the glass to release oils, then drop it in as garnish.
  8. Pour into chilled flutes or glasses and serve immediately.

Notes

Do not heat the cider, as it will kill the carbonation. If using unfiltered cider, pour slowly to avoid sediment. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute sparkling wine with sparkling apple cider or dry sparkling water. The drink is best served immediately to maintain fizz.
