Quick Honey Garlic Salmon - featured image

A fast and flavorful weeknight dinner featuring salmon fillets roasted with a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, served alongside crisp-tender broccoli.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each), skin-on or skinless
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Wash and cut broccoli into florets. Toss with 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread on one side of the baking sheet.
  3. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place on the other side of the baking sheet, leaving space between them. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Brush half of the sauce over the salmon fillets. Leave the broccoli plain.
  6. Roast in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork, and broccoli is tender-crisp.
  7. Remove from oven and brush the remaining sauce over the hot salmon. Return to oven for 1-2 minutes to set the glaze.
  8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the pan; use a large sheet or cook in batches to ensure roasting rather than steaming. Let the salmon sit undisturbed for the first 10 minutes to cook evenly. Internal temperature should reach 145°F, though many prefer it slightly less cooked for moisture. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
