Spooky Non-Alcoholic Witches Brew: Easy Halloween Punch

Spooky Non-Alcoholic Witches Brew - featured image

A balanced, fizzy, and tart-sweet non-alcoholic Halloween punch that uses real fruit juices and ginger ale for complex flavor, avoiding the artificial taste of typical party punches.

Ingredients

  • 100% pure apple juice (cloudy/unfiltered preferred)
  • Fresh lime juice (from 4-5 limes, approx. 1/2 to 3/4 cup)
  • Simple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • Ginger ale (high-quality recommended)
  • Green gel food coloring
  • Lime wheels (for garnish)
  • Candy eyes or gummy worms (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes (bat, skull, or pumpkin shapes optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash limes thoroughly and cut in half.
  2. Juice the limes and strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove pulp and seeds.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine apple juice and fresh lime juice; stir gently.
  4. Taste the mixture and add simple syrup if needed to balance tartness.
  5. Add green gel food coloring drop by drop, stirring after each addition until desired vibrant green shade is reached.
  6. Refrigerate the base mixture for at least 30 minutes to chill.
  7. Right before serving, slowly pour in ginger ale down the side of the pitcher to preserve carbonation.
  8. Stir gently once or twice to combine.
  9. Add ice cubes, candy eyes, gummy worms, and float lime wheels on top.
  10. If using dry ice for fog effect, place it in a separate bowl of ice away from the punch; serve immediately.

Notes

Never put dry ice directly into the punch bowl as it can cause burns and scalding. Use a separate bowl for dry ice fog effects. For parties lasting several hours, keep the base chilled and add ginger ale in batches to maintain carbonation. The base can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
