A quick and easy Halloween dessert featuring a creamy cream cheese base topped with caramel and a dark chocolate spiderweb drizzle. It offers a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and crunchy flavors with minimal prep time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces (225g) full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (60g) powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 cup (170g) butterscotch or caramel chips
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup (85g) dark chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) coconut oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Beat with a hand mixer or whisk until completely smooth and creamy.
  2. Transfer the cream cheese mixture to a serving bowl and smooth the top. Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to firm up.
  3. While the base chills, combine caramel chips and 1 tablespoon heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, stir, and continue in 15-second intervals until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  4. Remove the bowl from the fridge. Drizzle the warm caramel over the cream cheese base in a random, crisscross pattern.
  5. In a separate small bowl, combine dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring well after each, until smooth and liquid.
  6. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the caramel-drizzled dip. Use a toothpick to drag lines from the center outward and create concentric circles to mimic a spiderweb.
  7. Let the dip sit at room temperature for 5 minutes to allow the chocolate to set slightly. Serve immediately with apple slices, pretzel rods, or graham crackers.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature to avoid lumps. Do not over-mix the caramel to prevent seizing. The chocolate drizzle can be thinned with a few more seconds of microwaving if it becomes too thick. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
